INTERNAL BLEEDING

Artist/Type of Exhibit : Quatro Hapimeel

Date : March 13

Time : 6:00 PM

Inside the deepest corners of our mind, we kept our darkest thoughts that we wouldn’t want to bother anymore. Thoughts of causing those people in pain and misery because of what they have done to us. Battling the past with our own makeshift instruments for retribution. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth.

“Internal Bleeding” is a series of representation wherein grief and anger are depicted as violent as a weapon. Created through a reflection from the rough experiences that everybody can somehow relate to, the items represent as the weapon that can be used to hurt people for revenge; and by making them soft, it shows that vengeance is not necessary and it doesn’t have the intention to deal damage even if it’s built to cause pain. A sequence of emotions for those who have been left by special individuals who gave remarkable memories, and witnessing how tragic it was to be departed by them. -CA

POTLUCK

Artist/Type of Exhibit

Date : Jan 12

Time : 6:00 PM

Biglaan ang usapan,
mayroon tayong handaan,
nabuo mula sa ibat ibang ulam
galing sa kanya, dito ang lapagan

ano ang lasa ng iyong napagdaanan
gaano kapait, katamis o tabang?
may sustansya bang laman
bagong init lang?

saan galing ang sahog?
gaano kalapot ang sabaw?
sino ang nagluto?
iba ba o ikaw?

Barya baryang naipon, papuntang pagtitipon,

No Time Like Now

Artist/Type of Exhibit : Wipo & Ginoe Ojoy

Date : Jan 12

Time : 6:00 PM

Wipo and Ginoe ponder on the meaning of the year’s start. Brimming with potential, the start of the year has always been the time when the slate is clean, and plans are laid out. There is no time like now.

Using this as context, Wipo fixates on presence. A firm believer of goal setting, the artist elucidates on self-aware presence in every moment, as a vital force to achieve one’s goals.

Ginoe on the other hand, focuses on queer experience. Marginalized since he was young because of his sexuality, the moment is always that of assertion. Using photographs of places of trauma, he inserts images of queerness to reclaim them as if to repeat the Stonewall mantra “We’re here. We’re queer. Get used to it.”
